Remedial Studies
The Advanced Level National Examinations in Rwanda serve as a critical gateway to tertiary education and future career opportunities. Unfortunately, some students fail to meet the required passing grades, limiting their academic progression and career prospects. Recognizing the urgent need to support these students, the Educational Advancement Centre (EAC) has initiated a comprehensive remedial program designed to identify and address the specific learning gaps of students who wish to retake the examinations.
With over 25 years of experience in delivering transformative educational solutions across Africa, EAC has successfully supported thousands of students in preparing for critical examinations through tailored remedial programs. Our proven approach combines diagnostic assessments with targeted video lessons, delivered via accessible online platforms, to ensure students achieve mastery of challenging topics and improve their examination outcomes.
Our strategy involves
Conducting Diagnostic Assessments
The first step is to conduct massive diagnostic assessments to identify each student's specific areas of weakness in core subjects.
Delivering Targeted Video Lessons
Based on the diagnostic results, we provide structured video lessons addressing identified gaps. Lessons will be prioritized to cover foundational topics before progressing to more complex ones.
Leveraging Internet Accessibility
Given the widespread availability of smartphones and affordable internet in Rwanda, the program will be delivered online to ensure accessibility and scalability.
Program Components
01
Diagnostic Assessments
The diagnostic assessments will be the cornerstone of the remedial program. These assessments will:

- Provide detailed reports highlighting areas requiring improvement.
- Inform the development of personalized learning paths for each student.
The assessments will cover all core subjects in the Advanced Level National Examinations, including:
- Mathematics
- English Language
- Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
- Social Studies
02
Video Lessons
Following the diagnostic assessments, EAC will deploy a series of high-quality video lessons to address the identified deficiencies. These lessons will be:
- Structured by Learning Paths: Lessons will be sequenced to build foundational knowledge before advancing to more complex topics.
- Engaging and Interactive: Lessons will incorporate visual aids, animations, and real-life examples to enhance understanding.
- Accessible Online: Lessons will be hosted on an online platform accessible via smartphones, ensuring students can learn at their convenience.
03
Progress Monitoring and Feedback
To ensure the effectiveness of the remedial program, EAC has the following provisions:
- Weekly Progress Assessments: Short quizzes and assignments to measure students' understanding of the video lessons.
- Feedback Reports: Personalized reports to students highlighting their progress and areas for further improvement.
